Chateauneuf du Pape to be featured!
The history of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is firmly entwined with papal history, as the name translates to “The
Pope’s new castle.” The region has a long and storied history of wine production, with vineyards dating back
to the 14th century. Today, Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the largest appellation in the Rhône, with more than
8,000 acres under vine, and it produces only two wines: a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which represents 94% of
the production, and a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which represents the remaining 6%.
